Grapperhaus Metals Night of Destruction Roll Over Contest

Return of the Dash’s

(May 5 2011) Highland IL – While people enjoy the excitement of wheel to wheel racing excitement at the Highland Speedway each week, from the Becker Jewelers Late Models to the Sport Compact Division, the occasional crash does occur, but nothing compares to drivers intentionally wrecking their cars on the front straight at the Speedway.

That is what will be happening during intermission this Saturday May 7thduring Grapperhaus Metals Night of Destruction Roll Over Contest. Drivers will intentionally try to see how many times their car will roll over. Using late model sedans, vans, trucks and who know what else, drivers will aim for a short ramp to give them that edge in turning over their rides, and then try and see if they can do it again. A contest like this is worth the price of admission alone.

Also on the card for the night will be the return of the Dash’s. Always a fan favorite, The Becker Jewelers Late Models and the Steve Schmitt Modifieds will again see who is the fastest of the top six cars of the night.

Racing in all six UMP divisions will feature the Becker Jewelers Late Models, The Steve Schmitt Modifieds, Pro Late Models, Sportsmen, Factory Stocks and Sport Compacts. Again drivers will be trying to put their cars in the Casey’s General Stores Victory Lane.

Last week’s races were highlighted by Michael Kloos winning the Northern Allstars vs. The Becker Jewelers Late Models, Steve Lach winning the Steve Schmitt Modifieds, Mark Oller in the Pro Late Models, Steve Stevenson; Sportsmen, Jake Hewett; Factory Stock, and Jordan Suhre in the Sport Compacts.

The pit gate opens at 3 pm, the Grandstand opens at 5 pm and racing starts at 6 pm.

You won’t want to miss the Grapperhaus Metals Night of Destruction Roll Over Contest and the return of the Dash’s.
