Announcement for SportMod

Highland Speedway to Unveil New SportMod Division in 2012

Highland, Illinois (Dec. 7, 2011)            As part of a realignment of racing divisions for the 2012 season at Highland Speedway, promoter Scott Kuhn has announced the introduction of a new SportMod class at the racing facility located at the Madison County Fairgrounds. The new division is designed to provide up and coming racers with an affordable class of racing to be integrated into the track’s weekly racing program.

‘With the recent changes that we made eliminating the Sportsman division, we felt that this innovative SportMod class would serve as a solid replacement while also keeping the costs in line for our competitors,’ Kuhn stated. ‘Although I will personally miss the old Sportsman division, it is a decision that took a lot of thought and we feel that overall, the new class will prove positive for everyone involved while also providing the teams that previously competed in the other class a way to transition to our new SportMod division in an economical manner.’

Kuhn also noted that other positive changes will be announced in the near future, including some announcements being made at this Saturday’s awards banquet for Highland Speedway.
