Dreams Come True at Highland Speedway Saturday Night for One Special Leaps of Love Young Man!

HIGHLAND, IL (JUNE 30, 2013) Mother Nature finally gave us a break and allowed us to have a great night of racing action. It was a wonderful night where dreams came to life for Christopher, an awesome young man. Christopher met promoter Scott Kuhn years ago at the Richard Petty Driving Experience. Last year Christopher came out last year for Leaps of Love Night and instantly became a part of the Highland Speedway family. This year our Leaps of Love event was unfortunately rained out, however the kids enjoyed meeting the drivers and spending time with them during the storm talking, playing games, and Christopher’s family made the trip back to Highland Speedway Saturday night to see some racing action. Racing has been a life long dream for Christopher. His dream seemed impossible to reach because of physical limitations that are beyond his control. Saturday Night the Highland Speedway crew found a way to overcome the obstacles and fulfill his dreams with the help of some Highland Speedway racers. Shannon Kuhn came out in his Late Model and SportMod drivers Lance Deiters, Billy Knebel Jr, Rob Lee, and Steve Stevenson came out to race against Scott Kuhn and Christopher in the Highland Speedway ride car. Christopher took the checkered flag and celebrated in CC Food Marts Victory Lane with the Highland Speedway crew. It was an exciting race and truly an amazing experience to be part of helping make this young man’s dream come to life. Christopher had an amazing night of racing and a ringside seat with his family for the entire race spending the entire night on the infield. It was an action packed night with the UMP B-Dry SportMods double features, Daum Insurance Outlaw Micros, UMP Hamel Coop Street Stocks, and UMP Sammie’s KidModz, 65 cars ready to race. There was no Pick 3 winner this week, the Pick 3 will return on Saturday, July 13, 2013 with a $200 jackpot.
