Rick Kloos, “Lumpy” Loughery, Bob Faust, Gary Gerstner, Ken Faust, and “Butch” Kuhn Return to the Highland Speedway

HIGHLAND IL ( August 19, 2011) – The second part of the Highland Speedways 50th Anniversary presented by SKI and Casey’s General Stores is expecting to be bigger than the first. (The second of the two part celebration was rained out in June). This Saturday several drivers from the bygone era of the Speedway will again compete on the famed Highland ¼ mile in racers provided by the Gateway Vintage Racing Association.

Rick Kloos, Butch Kuhn, Bob Faust, Gary Gerstner, Larry “Lumpy” Loughery, and Ken Faust will again don helmets and climb in behind the wheel. This should be exciting for the fans, seeing these drivers once again on the Speedway and hear their names announced across the tracks P.A. In addition to these six additional drivers from the Highland Speedway past are expected to attend.

It will be a full night of racing along with the Race of Past Drivers; the Gateway Vintage Racers will compete. Let’s not forget your favorite Highland Drivers will be competing in the Becker Jewelers Late Models, Steve Schmitt Modifieds. UMP Pro Late Models, Sportsmen, Factory Stocks, and Sport Compacts divisions. The Delaware style restart will be used in all divisions.
