Mike Harrison, a 3 time UMP National points Champion in the Modified Division reached a big milestone for his career on Saturday night at Highland Speedway notching feature win number 400 at the track where it all started for him 20 years ago.
The win for Harrison would not be an easy one but he would not have it any other way. After getting around a host of drivers he set his sites on leader Brett Korves. Harrison, running the high side wrestled the lead from Korves with a hand full of laps to go but Korves hung right with him trying to regain the lead.
Korves was right on Harrison’s back bumper as they entered turn 3 on the final lap but He was unable to make the pass as Harrison took the checkered flag for the win and number 400.
Korves finished second in the Steve Schmitt Modified feature followed by Chad Sellers, Tyler Deibert and Jordan Bauer.
Korves won the Dash and his Heat. Harrison and Eric Goetter picked up wins in the other Heats.
Michael Kloos was the class of the field in the B/Wet-B/Dry Solutions Late Model division on Saturday night winning his heat, dash and the feature to complete the sweep.
Frankie Martin tried to chase Kloos down in the feature to no avail as Kloos was hooked up on the high side and held on for his second feature win of the season at Highland.
Martin finished second followed by Chad Zobrist, Greg Kimmons and Dan Jacober.
Matt Weidner and and Mike Schulte won their heats and Jason Zobrist won the consi.
In the Donnewald Distributing Bmods, Tim Hanock, Sr picked up the win in the feature followed by Justin Durbin, Jimmy Cummins, Michael Ripperda, Jr and C.J. Volluz.
Hanock, Ripperda and Mark Clary won the heats.
Jeremy Camp took home the win in the BOSS Micro feature followed by Brad McDaniel, Carlee Gress, Kurt Westerfield and Lucas Hanning.
Hanning and Camp picked up the wins in the Micro Heats.
In the Hamel Coop Street Stock division, Cody Zobrist won his heat and picked up the win in the feature event.
Last weeks feature winner Eric Harris finished second in the feature followed by Josh Heuiser, Cody Ventimiglia, and Jason Walsh who also won his heat.
